With your explaination I stand corrected, it seemed as though you were the way I read it. 'Changing the Short Date format is not the answer as it seems EVERYTHING is linked to it.' Windows 10 by default displays the date in the Taskbar formatted with forward slashes and two numbers for the year (12/28/16) and 12-hour format for time (12:00 PM), which is totally acceptable. That is something which Bob specifically did not want to do. I was saying the Time & Date format is based on the system's Short Date setting so changing the format to the Long Date syntax changes the way dates display system wide. I never said you couldn't display the long date format in the System Tray's Time & Date. The date is under the time by default in the short format Display seconds on the tray clock option in 7+ Taskbar Tweaker. All you do is copy the long date format and paste it into the short date format, then as Duffney said, make sure you enlarge your taskbar to show the date. If you’re still using Windows 10 v1511, Windows 8, or earlier, you can use 3rd party programs like 7+ Taskbar Tweaker, TClock Redux (both support Windows 10), TClockEx, or its alternatives. Unless you want to deploy an app such as http:/ / TClockĬazi this is incorrect. Unfortunately, it looks like the system tray clock is based on the Short Date, so you have no other option really.
